Robbers Attack Business Man In Yendi

Robbers have attacked and shot a business man and three others in the Yendi Municipality of the Northern Region.

Information gathered indicates that the business man, who deals in exchange of currencies, was attacked by two unidentified men in a mask at gunpoint and robbed him of all the money he had on him, including some unknown valuables.

Abdul Razak, 22, was shot at his left wrist; Fuseini Ibrahim, 17, was shot at both legs; whilst Iddrisu Imoro, 29, was shot at his waist when they were trying to prevent the armed robbers.

Victims were rushed to the Yendi Government Hospital where they are currently receiving medical treatment.

The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yussif Mohammed Tanko, who confirmed the incident to DAILY GUIDE, said at about 1725 hours, police received information that there were gunshots at the Yendi Market area.

According to him, police proceeded to the scene and found five empty AK 47 shells and blood stains on the ground.

He indicated that the suspects bolted on a motorbike after the robbery, but he gave an assurance that efforts were being made to arrest the suspects.

DSP Yussif Mohammed Tanko disclosed that patrols had been intensified in the area.
