BUSTED! Isaac Dzamesi with the human parts
The Awutu Breku District Police have arrested a 23-year-old man, who was in possession of human parts at a cemetery at Gomoa Fetteh Kakraba in the Central Region.
Isaac Dzamesi was apprehended by two caretakers of the cemetery after he allegedly opened forcibly a grave to collect human parts.
The suspect, who is currently in custody assisting in police investigations, was arrested with a lady’s handbag containing a human skull, which still had residues of hair and wrist bone.
Isaac Dzamesi, believed to be a money ritualist ‘Sakawa,’ reportedly travelled to the cemetery to loot the grave to get human parts for ritual purposes.
Speaking on the matter, Rashid Wahilu, who is the caretaker of the Fetteh Kakraba Cemetery, narrated that he and his colleague Isaac Baiden spotted the suspects at the cemetery with a brown lady’s handbag.
He added that after interrogation the suspect, Dzamesi admitted that he forcibly opened the grave to collect the body parts which he placed in the bag.
“My brother Baiden and I are in charge of the cemetery. We take care of the cemetery because of recent happenings here since people are using it as a place of convenience.”
“We were on our usual duty when we spotted the guy (Dzamesi) but I was not convinced about his presence in the cemetery so I decided to question him. During the questioning my friend and I made him open the bag and we found a human skull and wrist in the bag.”
“We then followed him to the grave which he looted and I made him to enter the grave again and he showed us how he sneaked into it.
So when he went into the grave the second time he came out with some small bone again,” Rashid Wahilu told reporters.
He said they wanted to transport the suspect to the chief’s palace, but the chief had already been informed so the police were called.
Meanwhile, the Awutu Breku District Police Commander, DSP Jonson Hessey, has stated that the suspect is currently in custody assisting the police in investigations.
Although he could not immediately disclose the motive of the suspect, he condemned the ‘get rich quick’ attitude among the youth.
Asked whether the suspect might be suffering from mental disorder, DSP Hessey noted that it’s only a medical doctor who can confirm the mental state of the suspect.
He, however, added that Dzamesi might be feigning ‘madness’ to avoid prosecution.
He used the opportunity to advise the youth to desist from using criminal means to get rich quickly.
