Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, yesterday donated assorted products to hundreds of widows and physically challenged people at Ashalaja in the Ga South District, to support them celebrate Christmas.
The items, including bags of rice, sugar, milk, oil, clothing and undisclosed amount of money was provided by the Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP).
The Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects since its inception has developed and implemented social intervention programmes in various parts of the country in the areas of health, education and empowered many women with diverse skills.
Presenting the items to the people, Samira Bawumia said, “as your daughter and sister, Remember me in your prayers so that God blesses us to give you more always.”
“I will always remember and support you whichever way I can, that is why I need your prayers at this time, especially the less privileged who need to be supported to achieve their ambitions in life,” she added.
The Second Lady also appealed to the residents not to forget about the good policies of President Akufo-Addo and vote for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in 2024 to continue with the legacy of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2025.
Over 800 residents who received the items could not hide their joy but to pray for God’s guidance and protection for her family, assuring the Second Lady of the community’s support whenever the need arises, especially in 2024 when her husband would be contesting as the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party.
The parliamentary candidate of the Domeabra Obom Constituency, Abdul Wahab Mohammed as well as the MCE, Joseph Nyarni, also lauded the efforts of the foundation led by Samira Bawumia for supporting scores of people over the years, while assuring the Second Lady of their preparedness to win the 2024 elections and retain the NPP in office.
