Savana Paint, one of the paint brands from the Azar Chemical Industry Limited, is sponsoring Sharon Dede Padi on her official attempt of the Guinness World Records painting marathon.
Azar chemical limited will supply its Savana Paint for Sharon to use throughout the seven-day painting marathon which begins today March 15 to 21 2024, at the Accra Tourist Information Centre.
Speaking at the press launch yesterday, Jad Azar, Marketing Manager, Azar Chemical Industry, expressed the company’s excitement to embark on the journey with Sharon to achieving the world record of been the longest painting artist in the world.
“At Azar, we are very excited to join Sharon’s journey of been the longest paint action record holder in the world. We wish her well in achieving this attempt,” he said.
Sharon Dede Padi expressed her excitement for her official attempt for the record which is currently held by a Nigerian art student, Chancellor Ahaghotu, for painting for 100 hours. She aims to break this record at 160 hours.
She said her objective is to project Ghanaian culture globally through arts.
“This attempt will become a platform the recognition of arts as an important economic factor, while encouraging young girls to pick up roles in the art industry,” she said.
“It’s my wish that l have a successful record attempt and have the name of Ghana in the books of Guiness World Record”.
Marketing Director, Ghana Tourism Authority, Betty A. Kobi, assured her of the Authority’s willingness to support the initiative of projecting Ghana’s culture through the painting marathon saying, “At GTA, we are all about projecting the country’s culture globally, for this initiative has the full support of the Authority.”
