Stonebwoy’s BHIM Festival Rescheduled

The highly anticipated 10th edition of the BHIM Festival, headlined by global dancehall star Stonebwoy, has been officially rescheduled to 24 December 2025, two days earlier than its original Boxing Day slot.

Organisers, Burniton Music Group (BMG) and the BHIM Festival Secretariat say the change aims to enhance the overall fan experience, ensuring tighter security, better traffic management, and improved coordination with public agencies such as the Ghana Police Service and the Fire Service.

Clash of Events

But behind the seemingly straightforward announcement lies an interesting twist, the move was prompted by a date clash with the Black Star Experience’s “Taste the Culture” event, which recently shifted its schedule to a period uncomfortably close to the BHIM Festival.

According to BMG, the proximity of both events — especially given that Taste the Culture is staged right behind the Accra Sports Stadium, the venue for the BHIM Festival — raised concerns over public safety and congestion.

“Given the revised date of the Black Star Experience and its location, we initiated discussions to encourage a reversion to their original date,” the statement noted. “When that was not possible, we made the difficult choice to reschedule in the best interest of our patrons.”

The decision, BMG revealed, comes with significant financial implications, but the team insists it reflects their commitment to maintain harmony within the country’s packed ‘December in GH’ calendar.

The organisers also expressed gratitude to the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) for its intervention in securing the new date at the Accra Sports Stadium amid a tight festive schedule.

“We believe this decision demonstrates our commitment to ensuring harmony within the national ‘December in GH’ events calendar,” the statement added. “We hope that, going forward, all stakeholders will support — not compete with — Ghanaian creatives.”

Despite the changes, there is still high anticipation for the 10th anniversary edition of the BHIM Festival, which has become one of Ghana’s most iconic live music events. Fans have been assured that all tickets purchased for the previous date remain valid, and that the show will deliver another world-class showcase of Ghanaian and international talent.
