Musah Superior
A Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Forestry Commission (FC), Musah Superior, has outlined his plans for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He indicated that should he be voted the General Secretary (GS), the affairs of the Party would be done at the headquarters and no longer from private offices and homes. “I will lead in running an active, professional and a hugely political headquarters. I will not run the Party in absentia,” he said.
He also shared his vision for a bottom–up approach to the management of the party’s activities by giving serious attention to the local structures of the party.
According to him, when attention is given to the polling stations and resources are made available to the Constituency Executives, the strength of the party would be enhanced.
He said a six-month activity plan would be formulated and published to guide the party’s activities, which would ensure that party officers and communicators, are rewarded. “It is absurd that we do not have an award scheme for people who have worked so hard for our victory. I’ll ensure that we add value to our officers and volunteers. This is not rocket science,” he added.
Mr. Superior said a working welfare scheme for all officers of the party would be established and the Communications Directorate of the party would be revived.
“All communicators at all levels must have a reason to continue to advocate for the Party. I will put a plan in place to “look” after them. I will also support the Directorate to recruit brilliant communicators from the regions and constituencies and offer them opportunities to feature on programmes “reserved” for certain class of persons. We must find innovative ways of making our communication effective, and convincing. This means we must consult widely and use the wealthy brains of the Party,” he said.
As GS, Mr. Superior said he would lead in constantly articulating the excellent work the NPP government is doing and challenge any propaganda intended to undermine the party’s great efforts in winning the 2024 elections.
Also, all internal elections will be free, fair, transparent and credible, with parliamentary primaries opened to all, he said.
“I will review the workings of the special Wings of the Party (Youth Wing, TESCON, Women’s Wing and Nasara). I will ensure that these bodies run on full strength and effectively anchor the mobilisation of the masses for elections 2024,” he added.
Superior is the immediate past Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly.
