The Northern Region has confirmed three more covid-19 cases bringing its total cases to 19.
One of the three patients, an 80 year old woman, has however died at the Tamale Central hospital.
The deceased was on admission at the Tamale central hospital for treatment of Pneumonia.
After some days sample of the patient was taken for Covid-19 test and the results came back positive after she died.
The deceased has since been buried by the Covid-19 burial team.
The other patient live in Tamale whiles the third patient works at Salaga in the Savannah Region but traveled to Tamale to visit his family.
The two male patients have been asked to self isolate themselves for the medical team to manage them from home because they live alone.
The Northern Regional Health Director, Dr. John B. Eleeza, who confirmed this to DGN Online, said contact tracing of the deceased and confirmed patients have commenced.
He indicated that the 29 health worker who came into contact with the patients have been asked to self isolate and their samples have been taken.
Dr. Eleeza appealed to the people of he North to strictly adhere to the health directives to prevent the spread of the virus in the region.
