Teacher Attempts To Defile Girl, 11

A pupil teacher at Lingbinsi Presby Primary School in Daboya in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region has been granted bail after a failed attempt to defile an 11 year old class 5 pupil of the school.

The suspect, Gariba Abdul Aziz who was caught forcing his victim (name withheld) into the bush was apprehended by some residents.

Gariba Abdul Aziz was chased and apprehended by the residents after he attempted to flee the scene, but he was later arrested.

He has since been granted bail by the Daboya police with his family seeking an out of court settlement but the victim’s family was against it.

The Assemblyman for Lingbinsi Electoral Area, one Alhassan, who confirmed the incident to DAILY GUIDE said after the suspect had been caught, the child returned home and told her parents about it.

According to the Assemblyman, the child’s parents came and informed him about the incident and he advised them to report it to the police.

‘I went with them to report the matter and the suspect was arrested’.

He indicated that a number of chiefs in Daboya are influencing the process and want to subvert the law.

Meanwhile, the victim has been declared safe and in good condition.

The Head teacher of Lingbinsi Presby Primary School in Daboya, Mr. Moses told DAILY GUIDE that the issue has been reported to the Northern Regional Office of the Ghana Education Service for their next line of action.
