Medikal and Teephlow
Divergent views on which direction up and coming rappers should follow, on Tuesday, left rappers Teephlow and Medikal throwing jabs at each other on Twitter.
Their disagreement started when Medikal posted a comment on the social platform saying up and coming rappers need to be unique in their crafts if they want to make it to the top and stay relevant.
He added that rappers need to move away from rapping to please people where they would receive all the cheers and applause but that would be the end of their career.
“Most of y’all upcoming rappers are trapped within the mindset of impressing and competition. You will always get the applause and cheer of critics but due to lack of uniqueness, your shit will be stuck in your ass,” he said in the tweet.
However, Teephlow had a different opinion. In his response to Medikal, he said the ‘Omuada’ crooner should not discourage rappers who wish to rap to please the crowd.
“It’s called passion for real Arts and poetry bro. If you are not interested, don’t discourage others. We can’t all Rap the same,” he said.
Medikal, who was not pleased, replied the tweet saying, “I’m not discouraging you, I am encouraging you (smile emoji).”
But Teephlow downplayed his response and asked, “Me rather?” and laughed.
“This is for every artiste who respects arts!! In any shape or form!! Be the best you can in any way you would love to. Don’t be limited by ‘nyaaa’ vibes!! You were born Great so go be great (sic),” Teephlow reiterated his earlier point.
This led to Medikal coming back hard, saying, “You are dumb as f**k for not comprehending the meaning of ‘Unique’ take the smoke, do hit song.”
At this point scores of their fans joined the fray and started calling for a rap battle between the two. Teephlow said he was ready whenever Medikal was also ready.
But MDK took an exit route with demands that Teephlow should pay him before he battles him.
“First of all, @TeePhlowGH can’t afford to pay me enough to react, secondly, my previous beef was with @StrongmanBurner, if I go beef any rapper again I for climb up, I no for come down(sic),” he tweeted.
