Rev. Kingsley Gyekye, Chaplain of the Achimota School, prayed for the wellbeing of Mr Boateng in his retirement.

In a farewell message, Mr Boateng encouraged the workers to continue to maintain a serene business atmosphere because the “business environment is challenging and you need to remain calm to push the company ahead.”

He said Ghana is an island of peace and despite all the difficulties most foreigners want to come and stay here.

He started his career in 1979 with Kumasi Brewery Limited as management trainee after completing national service at the Volta River Authority (VRA).

In 2002, he was appointed the Finance Director of Woodin International and rose to become the Managing Director of Vlisco in July 2014.

Mr Boateng was later presented with gifts by the various departments of the company at the event.
