Leading indigenous Savings & Loans Company, uniCredit, has launched its 10th anniversary at a colorful ceremony in Accra.

The ceremony, held at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra, brought together customers of the institution, as well as well-wishers.

Speaking to the media during the launch, CEO Samuel Sakyi-Hyde recounted the achievements of the institution over the last 10 years of its existence.

He said the anniversary will be under the theme, “10 Years of Redefining SME Banking.”

“Our theme is in sync with what has been our focus over the last 10 years. We have kept faith with our customers and we will continue to do so as we usher ourselves into the next decade of our existence,” he noted.

Recounting the uniCredit story, he said uniCredit started from a shop at Kantamanto with just 28 staff.

“Today, we are celebrating 10 years of steady growth as an indigenous SME focused financial institution. We have grown from very small beginnings to a branch network of 24 that operate in seven regions across the country with staff strength of over 700. This, we believe, is worth celebrating,” he asserted.

Support for small businesses

Mr Samuel Sakyi-Hyde reiterated the resolve of the company to continue in its quest to support small businesses to grow.

“We have built expertise over the years that place us in a better position to understand small businesses and our strength is in helping you to grow,” he noted.

Mr. Sakyi-Hyde hinted that uniCredit has put in place elaborate training and business advisory programmes to benefit customers of the institution.

He emphasized that uniCredit offers a growth and development process to support its customers.

“We will continue to work with our customers to identify and take advantage of the right businesses,” he asserted.

uniCredit, currently a member of the Ghana Club 100, a list of the top 100 blue chip companies in Ghana, has received several awards over the last 10 years.

The company was recently awarded a certificate of Investment Attractiveness by the Europe Business Assembly in Oxford, UK in recognition of its status as a prime business destination.
