It was a joyful season for expectant mothers as award-winning philanthropist and media personality, Vanessa Gyan, took her maternal health initiative, ‘The Post Pregnancy Boujie Express’, to Ridge Hospital during the sixth edition dubbed ‘Pop Up’ on December, 18, 2020.
Over 200 expectant and postpartum mothers were surprised as Vanessa gifted them with mother and baby necessities and protective gear from various sponsors who did not hesitate in supporting the maternal health cause.
The Post Pregnancy Boujie Express, which celebrated three years since its launch, continues to make an impact in educating women on the importance of pre/postnatal care, breastfeeding, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and self-care.
According to Vanessa, “I did not want to compromise the health of our mamas, but I did want to make sure they felt loved during the holidays.”
She continued, saying, “I am extremely grateful to my sponsors who made this edition possible. It’s been a tough year for businesses and for my sponsors to come on board without hesitation warmed my heart. I truly can’t thank them enough. All are truly the real MVP’s.”
“Thanks to monetary donations received worldwide, I was able to assist in discharging detained mothers and newborns from Ridge Hospital. An effort that has been continuous over the past three years and even during lockdown due to COVID-19, was able to support financially strapped families,” said Vanessa, the daughter of the late Kiki Gyan of Osibisa.
“From diapers, face masks, sanitary pads, food, and much more, our mamas were taken aback by the Post Pregnancy Boujie Express Care Packages they received,’ Ms. Gyan stated.
