Veep Amissah-Arthur addressing party supporters
Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, has expressed disappointment in the residents of Kwahu in the Eastern Region for always refusing to vote massively for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), but rather vote for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The vice president, addressing the chiefs and people of Nkawkaw as part of his three-day regional campaign tour on Thursday, said it baffles him why the people of Kwahu continue to vote for a different party instead of the NDC, in spite of the numerous projects the (NDC) had provided them.
The Kwahus, he noted, are well-known business people, adding that the NDC government had created an enabling environment for economic activities therefore, if the people need an industrious and competent leader, they should not look elsewhere but vote for President Mahama to continue the good works.
Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur further said President Mahama’s government is the best thing to happen to Ghana in terms of development, after Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s administration.
“Looking at Ghana’s history, which government, from 1957 to 2016, has brought development like President John Dramani Mahama? That is why President Mahama says you should vote for him again so that he continues the good works he has begun,” the veep said.
He explained that the NDC government is not selective when it comes to development projects like roads, potable water, electricity, among others.
He said a 15-member taskforce headed by the Regional Minister, Mavis Ama Frimpong, had been set up to solely ensure that the party’s campaign in the region is geared towards ensuring the vote-splitting agenda.
