AKWAABA UK, organisers of the annual Ghana Party In The Park (GPITP), have announced July 13, 2024 as the date for this year’s event.
The event, which is the biggest family outdoor event in the UK, will be held at Oak Hill Park in Barnet, UK, the organisers have said.
BEATWAVES gathered that the ultimate goal of the festival is to showcase Ghanaian music, food, arts and fashion to the world.
As a family fun day celebration, the event serves as a platform for over 10,000 Ghanaians and other African nationals to network and sell the rich Ghanaian culture to the rest of the world.
It will have attractions from a durbar of chiefs, cultural dancers, food, music, various guest artistes from UK and Ghana, kids’ activities and a fashion show.
This year’s edition will deliver back-to-back performances from arguably the most exciting artistes billed to rock the stage.
Some of the artistes billed to rock the event include Wendy Shay, King Paluta, KiDi, Lasmid, Kmot, Tulenkey, OlivetheBoy, DWP Dance Group, among others.
Mr. Dennis Tawiah, Chief Executive Officer of Akwaaba UK, stated in an interview that his outfit was ready to give patrons another remarkable and memorable experience.
“As you all know, Akwaaba UK has been at the forefront of putting together the biggest and best international events across Europe for the African community and beyond.
“All is set for this year’s Ghana Party in the Park festival, which happens to be the 20th edition, and we want to promise patrons another magical experience,” he said.
Mr. Tawiah also stated that a second batch of artistes would be announced ahead of the music festival, as well as some surprise appearances.
He further solicited support from all relevant state agencies, private entities, and key industry stakeholders in Ghana as well as the United Kingdom to help make this year’s GPITP festival a success.
