Some members of Central Region wheelchair tennis
Ghana Wheelchair Tennis under the auspices of Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) with support from International Tennis Federation (ITF) has launched wheelchair tennis in Central Region at the Cape Coast Stadium over the weekend.
Thirty-two players participated in the two day training exercise led by Head Coach Yahya Macaulay with support from current wheelchair/ GTF number one, Daniel Laryea.
The participants were taken through various techniques of playing tennis. There was time for them to practice what they had been taught, with many of the participants already showing prospects of becoming great wheelchair tennis players.
Head Coach Macaulay in an exclusive interview with ghanatennis.org said “I can see a lot good players here. I have already identified two players.”
Wheelchair tennis administrator, Michael Sekyere, stood on behalf of the Ghana Wheelchair Tennis coordinator, Henry Larbi, and donated brand new rackets and tennis balls to the Cape Coast team.
