Andy Osei Okrah addressing the youth
Andy Osei Okrah, former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister and President of Young Professional and Youth Coalition (YPYC), has stressed the need for the youth to be mentored to reduce unemployment and crime.
Equipping the youth with leadership and entrepreneurial skills would provide them with the platform to realize the potential to help in national development, according to him.
Mr Andy said this recently when he addressed the Monthly Seminar of a networking platform of YPYC in Accra.
According to the president, there is no need for any young men to fail in the 21st century when they can easily be exposed to the realities about leadership, entrepreneurship and self-actualization.
“We need to raise generational thinkers and transformational leaders to champion the building of our society. It’s equally our responsibility to build and develop networks that would lead them towards national development,” he said.
Mr Andy therefore called on corporate bodies, government, entrepreneurs and all well-meaning Ghanaians to focus on supporting the programme in order to safeguard the future of youth.
He said, “YPYC is on its path to inculcate a lot in the areas of self building and the confidence to set goals and achieve them through our monthly and annual transformational leadership conferences that are run in most of the tertiary institutions across the country.”
