Zekay
The dream of Isaac Affum, aka Zekay, to have his name become a household one in the Ghanaian afro pop/afro beat music scene is gradually coming to pass with the release of his two singles, Single One and Eda Odo Beba
The Takoradi-based artiste is not new in the showbiz industry. He discovered his music talent during his school days two decades ago.
With his presence in the music scene, Zekay, who is craving to reach out to a lot of people via his music, has promised to run things in a different dimension with support from his management team as well as his producers.
His songs new singles have already started garnering attention within the afro pop arena, a clear indication that very soon he may be counted among the best of Ghana’s afro pop artistes.
The artiste, whose style combines afro pop and Ghanaian drums popularly known as Jama, seeks to bring a new flavour onto the modern urban music scene.
Currently in the studios working on his first album, Zekay said the album, which had powerful and inspirational tracks would be launched in August this year.
The artiste, who hails from Sefwi Bodi in the Western part of the country, holds a degree in planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and also holds a master’s degree in Environmental Management and Policy from Cape Coast University.
An astute deputy director in public service, with 17 years of working experience, Zekay said “I developed a passion for Jama music during my school days.”
For those who knew him from school, where he gained the accolade “Jama King”, his transit into music comes as no surprise.
Zekay is sure to make a mark on the entertainment scene and looks forward to years ahead that will see him representing Ghana worldwide with his music.
