Zoomlion Develops 50 Years Plan For Waste Management

Zoomlion Ghana Limited has indicated that it has developed a 50 years Development Plan for Management of wastes in Ghana.

Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, Joseph Siaw Agyapong, made this known in an interaction with some senior journalists on Saturday, in Accra.

Zoomlion Ghana Limited is a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies.

Mr. Siaw-Agyapong was addressing the journalists after they embarked on a familiarization tour to some waste management facilities belonging to the group.

The facilities visited were the Achimota Zoompak, the Lavender Hill Faecal Treatment Plant, the Mudor Liquid Waste Treatment Plant, the Kpone Landfill and the Accra Recycling Plant.

According to him, there was the need for waste to be treated as revenue generating products.

Mr. Siaw-Agyapong observed the need for recycling and composting of wastes in Ghana.

“We need policymakers to make it as a law that every home has a bin,” he said.
