Zoomlion Waste Management Company in collaboration with Ministry of Defence has disinfected military facilities in the Northern region.
The Zoomlion team disinfected the Kamina Barrack, Bawah Barrack, Armed Forces Northern Command and all military facilities in the region.
Schools within the various barracks in the region were also disinfected.
The Northern Regional Manager of Zoomlion, Dawuni Peter said the aim for the disinfection exercise is to minimize the spread of the Covid-19 virus at the various military facilities in the region.
He noted that Covid-19 is real urging the people of the north to adhere to all the health protocols.
“We should not wait to be part of those who will die or infected of Covid-19 before we believe.”
Major Edward Awaribey who spoke on behalf of the Northern Command Brigadier General Moses Mohammed Aryee said, “as soldiers we are ready to defend the country but my advice to Ghanaians is to put in the needed measures to ensure that they are protected from contracting the Covid-19 virus.”
The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed, commended Zoomlion Waste Management Company for supporting government to help reduce the spread of Covid-19 virus in the region.
He encouraged Churches, Mosques and other institutions who have the intention to conduct activities at their various places after President Akufo Addo eased the restrictions on public gathering to collaborate with Zoomlion for disinfect their facilities to ensure that the virus does not spread.
