Samson Deen
National Paralympic President Samson Deen is expected to lead a two-man delegation to Japan in a few days’ time.
The visit forms part of Ghana’s preparation towards the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, which would take place on August 25 to September 6, 2020 in Japan.
Samson Deen would be accompanied by the NPC General Secretary, Peter Adjei. They would attend the Tokyo 2020 chefs de mission seminar from September 7-15, 2018.
The seminar would be used by the participants to discuss what measures and strategies should be adopted to make the Tokyo games successful.
The participants would discuss accommodation, accreditation, arrivals and departures, bank accounts and finance, custom and freight forwarding, venues and doping control.
Also, they would be discussing medical services, hospitality houses, rate card and spectrum, sport entries, ticketing and transport.
Samson Deen’s NPC administration is determined to bring renaissance into the para sports in the country, so Ghana can win top laurels during international competitions.
There are 28 paralympic sports sanctioned by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). Significantly, para badminton and para taekwondo have been given paralympic status to make their debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games.
