The maiden edition of the upcoming reality show dubbed ‘Make-Up Reality Show’ has been launched at a colourful ceremony held at the MJ Grand Hotel at East Legon in Accra.
The launch ceremony was attended by music personalities including stakeholders in the make-up industry as well as sponsors of the event.
The reality show is a talent competition that seeks to give both professional and amateur make-up artists the platform to develop their talent and skills in their chosen career.
Speaking at the ceremony, the organiser of the event, Ms. Cynthia Afia Kwofie, said the maiden make-up reality show would enhance the beauty of women by teaching them some basics in the use of make-up, adding that it is being packaged to the benefit of both professional and upcoming make-up artists.
According to her, the goal of this much-hyped reality show is to educate, inspire and unearth the make-up passion hidden in the youth.
She added that it is also to serve as a platform for make-up artists to exhibit and nurture their talents and contribute immensely to the burgeoning make-up and fashion industry in Ghana.
Ms. Afia Kwofie, who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Inner Works Creation, disclosed that the 13-week reality show would see artists showcasing their talents in special effects, bridal make-up among others.
Speaking at the launch of the reality show, the CEO said the make-up reality show is opened to amateur and upcoming make-up artists both male and female.
She added that the reality show would take participants through various topics such as self-application, airbrush, theatrical, special effects, and many other advanced themes.
The CEO, who is the former Vice President of Beauty Artists Association, said the reality show would also teach and equip amateur make-up business starters with the requisite knowledge in the make-up business.
She hinted that aspiring make-up artists can pick up a registration form at designated centres from January 25, with auditions billed for March 5, 2020.
On her part, Mrs. Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, Executive Director at Askof Productions, partners of the reality show, in a speech mentioned that her outfit decided to partner the project because it was geared towards empowering women in the beauty business so that they can realise their dreams and aspirations.
She said the event would break barriers and make an impact in Ghana’s make-up industry.
