Okyeame Kwame performing at the event
Hundreds of music fans were on Saturday thrilled with great musical performances at an event dubbed “PAHW Fund Raising Concert” held at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill in Accra to raise funds for Pan African Heritage World Museum (PAHW) project.
The fundraising concert organised by Okyeame Kwame was attended by a number of important personalities, including stakeholders in the creative arts industry, corporate institutions, Ministers of State, and Members of Parliament, among others.
The museum, which is the brainchild of Kojo Yankah, founder of the African University College of Communications (AUCC), is dedicated to sharing the true story of Africa and its people under the watchful eye of the world’s most noted scholars from the birth of civilisation to present day.
The event witnessed historic performances from artistes such as Okyeame Kwame, the headline act, Pat Thomas, Bessa Simons, and Bessa Band among others, who thrilled patrons with their back-to-back danceable hits.
The show kicked off with brilliant performances from the members of the Bessa Band. They captivated music fans with popular songs.
Veteran highlife act, Bessa Simons, who took over from the band, delighted fans with most of his hit songs.
Some of his popular songs he performed at the event were ‘Belembe’, ‘Odo Kese’ ‘Awowye’, ‘Bessa Si Bessa’ among others.
He performed creditably to the satisfaction of all music fans present at the event, as he brought to bear his several years’ of experience.
Highlife legend Pat Thomas also thrilled patrons with some of his hits songs like ‘Sika Ye Mogya’, ‘Ene Nyame A Mensuro’, ‘Gyae Su’, ‘Yamona’, ‘Sika’ and a host of others.
The performance by Pat Thomas truly lived up to the hype. He kept the audience on their feet, singing and dancing along from start to the end of his slot.
Okyeame Kwame, the last to perform, also gave a good account of himself during his performance on stage.
He thrilled fans with most of his classic songs including ‘Woara’, ‘Faithful’, ‘Woso’, ‘Anaa’, ‘Masan Aba’, ‘Tintin To’ and host of others.
His stagecraft and style of performing were well acknowledged by music fans, including politicians who attended the event.
The two hours nonstop performance by Okyeame Kwame truly lived up to the hype.
It was indeed an unforgettable night for residents of Accra and all those who travelled from far to the venue to take part in the concert.
