Isaac Kwame Yalley, CEO of Ghana Youth Awards
The second edition of the African Youth Showbiz Awards (AFYSA) will take place at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly on Friday, April 8, 2022, the organisers announced.
The awards scheme, which is aimed at recognising and awarding hardworking youth in Africa who are into showbiz, is under the theme, “Celebrating African Personalities in the Arts and Entertainment Industry.”
The prestigious awards scheme is expected to attract some stakeholders in the industry including performing artistes, actresses, bloggers, and entertainment journalists, among others.
Speaking to BEATWAVES, the Chief Executive Officer, AFYSA, Isaac Kwame Yalley, said, “Africa’s most authentic and credible awards scheme, Africa Youth Showbiz Awards (AFYSA 22′) has found the need to recognise, honour and reward such notable personalities making a great impact in their choice of endeavours.”
50 personalities were chosen from various categories, ranging from the media, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and real estate. The categories include, Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year, Rapper of the Year, TV/Radio Personality of the Year, Actor/Actress of the Year, Social Media of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, and Real Estate Company of the Year, among others.
Notable personalities who are up for the awards include Sammy Flex, Stacey Amoateng, Beverly Afaglo, Clemento Suarez, Selley Galley, Emelia Brobbey, Black sherif, Kofi Adoma, Delay, Serwaa Amihere, and Sarkodie.
