Kemeh. INSET: Agbeko
Former Bantamweight World Champion Joseph ‘King Kong’ Agbeko will clash with Julias Kisarawe from Tanzania in a 10-round international contest on October 5 at the A Plaza Hotel in Dzodze, Volta Region.
The current number one rated Bantamweight World title contender, who improved to 36 wins last April when he defeated Hashimu Zuberu, is brimming with confidence ahead of the clash and deemed this challenge as an opportunity to prepare himself for a potential world title bout before the end of the year.
“My aim is to climb back into the championship ranks and so far we are on course. This bout will further prepare me as I ready for a mandatory contest,” he said.
He relished fighting at Dzodze and told DAILY GUIDE SPORTS that he is eager to prove a point to his fans at Dzodze
“Fighting at Dzodze is something I relish though my recent bouts have all been in the Volta Region. Dzodze is a beautiful town and I can’t wait to entertain the fans there,” Agbeko stated.
Another co-headline bout on the night, Dodzi Kemeh, will continue his quest to get a world title against Daniel Aduku for the vacant IBF Africa Super Welterweight title.
Kemeh, 28, has a fight record of 25 professionally, 21 knock outs and two defeats.
The hard-hitting Ghanaian who has not lost in his last four bouts has vowed to defeat tough nut Aduku to guarantee him a world title shot.
For the bout promoter and president of Infinity Stars Promotions, John Kwakuvi, Kemeh is Ghana’s best kept secret.
“Dodzi Kemeh is the future of the Super Welterweight division. This fight is another step towards his desired goal of becoming a world champion,” he mentioned.
Kemeh said, “This is my time and I would leave no stone unturned to achieve my dream of becoming a world champion.”
Also on the bill would be hard-hitting Togolese fighter John Koudeha, who will defend his International Boxing Federation (IBF) African title against Patrice Sou Toke from Burkina Faso.
Four more undercard fights would see a Super Welterweight clash involving Kofi Manu and a yet-to-be announced opponent and a Super Middleweight encounter between Michael Tagoe and a yet-to-be announced opponent.
Emmanuel Kwate Quartey alias Akufo Addo will face a yet-to-be named opponent, while Solomon Martey fights will face also face a yet-to-be announced opponent.
