Mrs. Juliet Manteaw-Kutin, Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs, AngloGold Ashanti, donating items to the Department of Legal Services
ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (Ghana) Limited has donated six (6) computers and four (4) air conditioners to the Department of Legal Services of the Ghana Armed Forces.
Juliet Manteaw-Kutin, Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs at AngloGold Ashanti, speaking at the brief donation ceremony, stated that the swift response to the request made by the military was to show appreciation for the support shown over the years to AngloGold Ashanti.
Mrs. Manteaw-Kutin pledged AngloGold Ashanti’s commitment to its stakeholders, especially those in the mining community.
“As a mining organization, we believe in making the communities that we work in better. We were able to restart the Obuasi mine partly because of the support given to us by our stakeholders over the years. We will, therefore, continue to build partnerships with our stakeholders and to support them whenever they need us, just as they support us when we need them,” she said.
Major General Thomas Oppong Peprah, Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters of the Ghana Armed Forces, receiving the items, stated that the items for the Department of Legal Services were very crucial because the department was expanding and needed them to augment its existing computers and air conditioners.
Colonel B. Amuah-Boakye, Director General of the Department of Legal Services, also stated that “the company’s quick response to our needs serves as an incentive for us to continue with our engagement with your esteemed organization,” adding that “although we deal with several corporate organizations, we are impressed with the step AngloGold Ashanti has taken to support the army, a testament to their good intentions.
At the ceremony, Colonel Acheampong Badu also commended AngloGold Ashanti for the donation made to the Department of Legal Services. “If all companies will respond and recognize the effort of the military and show appreciation like AngloGold Ashanti has done, this will give us the impetus to continue working selflessly, rendering services not only to AngloGold Ashanti but also to the nation at large,” he stressed.
