Felix Annan
Black Stars third choice goalkeeper, Felix Annan is new Asante Kotoko captain, this writer has gathered.
The agile shot stopper takes over from right back Amos Frimpong and as custom demands, has been presented to the Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, patron of the club on Sunday.
Ahead of the club’s travel to Nigeria for their CAF Champions League campaign this week, officials and the players of Kotoko called on the owner of the club, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II.
The new captain was introduced to the Asantehene and he (Annan) promised to give his best shot as the new leader.
He said “It’s an honour for me to be named as captain of this great club.
“I accept it wholeheartedly and promise to give my best, be a good example to the players and also continue to put the club first in everything I do both on and off the field.”
Annan, 24, replaces long standing skipper, Frimpong, who currently plies his trade with Guinean side AS Kaloum Stars.
The Porcupine Warriors are expected to pitch camp in Accra for some few days before departing to Nigeria to face Kano Pillars.
Kotoko will then host their opponents two weeks later in Ghana.
