The Apsonic group making the presentation to the GIS group
Apsonic Motors has donated some medical equipment to the Tema Regional Commander of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS)
The donated items included infrared thermometer gun, nose masks, veronica buckets, alcohol based hand sanitizers among others.
Sales Manager of Apsonic Motors,Iddi Mohammed Saani, disclosed that the donation was the company’s contribution in the fight against Covid-19.
He said similar donations have been made at the Batsonaa Police Station near Spintex and the Military at the Burma Camp airforce base.
Assistant Commissioner of Immigration (ACI)AdwoaSikaAnim,who received the items, said the gesture could not have come at a better time than a period when regular handwashing is being advocated.
“We are grateful to Apsonic Motors for the donation and we pledge to put the items into good use in order to protect our officers from the virus. We can only defeat this virus if we collectively fight,” she said.
She urgedother corporate organizations to partner the security agencies, frontline health workers among others who render critical services in the fight against the novel coronavirus.
According to her, it is only when resources are pooled that the country will be able to effectively fight the virus that has negatively impacted the economy and affected social life.
“I would urge other organizations to emulate the example of Apsonic motors”, she appealed.
Ghana has now recorded 7,303 Covid-19 casesof which 2,412 patients have recovered and 34 have died.
