Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
Flagbearer candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed strong optimism that the party will win the 2028 general election.
“I have absolute confidence that if we work hard and stay united, we will win the 2028 general election.
“We need to be united as NPP members to be able to snatch power from the NDC in the next general election,” he added.
He stressed that as the party prepares to elect its next flagbearer, the campaign of the various presidential aspirants should be based on ideas, not insults.
“We the presidential aspirants should resort to issue-based campaigning, and a renewed commitment to Ghana’s development,” he indicated.
Dr. Bawumia stated this during an interaction with journalists in Takoradi, the Western Region, as part of his recent campaign tour.
“I am campaigning with ideas, not insults. I do not speak against anyone. I do not mention anyone’s name. I only share my ideas with the delegates,” he said.
He urged his supporters and team members to avoid personal attacks and noted that insults could damage relationships needed after the primaries.
“If you insult someone and later ask for the person’s help after the presidential primary on January 30 next year, will the person come?
“So I want to tell those communicating for me to be careful and not insult anyone,” he added.
He urged his supporters not to take anything for granted adding, “We still have some work to do. In some of the constituencies we need to double our efforts.”
He assured the NPP delegates that if elected as the party’s flagbearer, he would unite all aspirants to work together toward victory in the 2028 general election.
