A 30-day campaign dubbed ‘Toasting To Fatherhood’ was recently launched in Accra to honour and celebrate fathers and father-figures in the country.

It was organised by Great-Age Global, a social enterprise that seeks to address the needs of the elderly in society by harnessing the potential of youth power.

The campaign is, therefore, advocating that throughout the month of June, conscious effort should be made by all sons and daughters to make fathers and father-figures feel appreciated; at least 1,000 of them.

The founder of Great-Age Global, Evans A. Adu-Gyamfi, who is also the author of ‘A Toast To Fatherhood’, called on the society to recognise and remember the endless efforts, initiatives and contributions of all the fathers in the society, adding that the irresponsible behaviour of “some fathers (mostly biological) should not, and cannot be enough justification for the wonderful institution of fatherhood to be dishonoured or disrespected.”

He reminded Ghanaians to use the upcoming Fathers’ Day as an occasion to honour all the fatherly figures like stepfathers, grandfathers, uncles or even big brothers in their lives.

Another event will be held on Fathers’ Day, Sunday, June16, 2019 to help reinforce the importance of the institution of fatherhood in the quest for progress and prosperity at the personal, professional, community and national levels.

As part of the event, three organisations ?N8tive Bar & Beverage, African Young Leaders Alliance (AYLA) and SEEK International? signed an agreement of collaboration with Great-Age Global to help achieve its goal for the campaign.
