A Kumasi High Court has slapped an interim injunction on the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary Primaries within the Asawase Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
That was after an aggrieved member of the party and an aspirant, Manaj Ibrahim sued the party.
Mr. Ibrahim had been disqualified initially from contesting and was asked recently to offer a public apology to the NPP before being allowed to contest.
He filed the suit on September 24, 2019, according to a court document sighted by DGN Online for an interim injunction.
“The defendants, their agents, servants, assigns, privies, and any person acting or claiming through them, are restrained from conducting the parliamentary Primaries at Asawase Constituency scheduled for for Saturday 28th day of September, 2019, and/or declaring or holding out the 3rd defendant as sole candidate for Asawase Constituency.”
“The 3rd defendant is further restrained from allowing himself to be declared or hold out as the sole candidate for Asawase Constituency for a period of 10 days,” according to the document signed by the Registrar of High Court, David Osei.
