John Mahama
The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has revealed that military barracks will be built in all the six newly created regions by the NDC when voted into power come December 7, 2024.
“All the six new regions will have military barracks so that the Ghana army will be present in all the regions,” he said.
According to him, the building of the military barracks will help tackle armed robbery in the regions and create a safe environment for economic growth.
He indicated that the NDC will also establish a military and police Anti-Armed Robbery Squad to fight the crime rate in the country.
“We want you to have peace and security to be able to go about with your duties, and we know that our 24-hour policy cannot work unless there’s security and safety for everybody,” he added.
Addressing the gathering at Gambaga Naa’s Palace during his ‘Building Ghana Tour’, he disclosed that the NDC government will build a regional hospital, university, sports stadium among others in all the newly created regions.
“NDC’s policy is that every region of this country must have a regional hospital, public university campus, and sports recreational facility,” he affirmed.
Mr. Mahama assured the people of North East Region and the other newly created regions that the NDC government will provide them with the facilities when voted into power.
“I want to assure North East and the other five new regions that NDC has committed to provide these facilities when we come into office after January 7, 2025,” he stated.
