The Ekuona family of Fomena, the late Adansihene Nana Kwabena Ofori’s household in the Ashanti Region, has donated chairs for the teachers of Fomena Methodist Junior High School (JHS), to enhance teaching and learning in the community.
This donation by the Ekuona family is a follow-up to their promise to support the good people of Adansi.
The family upon embarking on their first round of donations of sanitary products to aid both government and local institutions in the prevention of COVID-19 came across numerous issues affecting the institutions.
Among the problems include; the deplorable conditions of furniture used by the teachers in the Fomena Methodist JHS for their work, and in most cases they had to stand or patch a broken chair to be able to sit.
Speaking to the media after the donation, Nana Yaa Nyakoma stated that upon seeing what the teachers go through, the family decided the next call to action through the Nana Kwabena Ofori Foundation, is to go to the aid of the amazing teachers whom regardless of the situations, give their all.
“The teachers at this particular time need good furniture to enhance their teaching and learning so the Ekuona Family donated to Fomena Methodist JHS teachers to support them,” she stated.
The Nana Kwabena Ofori Foundation is a foundation started by the family of the late great king of Adansi Fomena, Nana Kwabena Ofori, to help strengthen the core values of the Adansi through social and charitable activities.
The presentation was made by Nana Yaa Nyakoma, Henry Amponsah, Nana Adwoa Adani Pomaa, Sister Essi Amoabemaa, Sister Pepertual Fokuo and afrobeat artiste Eric Turkson (Ded Buddy).
