Ghana’s Consul to Guinea-Bissau, Prince Tetteh, has advanced talks aided by an expert advisory team including former Liverpool and Real Madrid player Antonio Nunez Tena to acquire Spanish Division 3 club Ourense CF.

The ambitious deal is progressing that could provide a pathway for gifted African footballers into European leagues.

If finalised, the agreement would hand the proactive Ghanaian significant influence to shape Ourense’s future.

Club President Camilo Diaz gave Mr. Tetteh a warm reception and tour of facilities last week, upon which Mayor of Ourense Gonzalo Pérez Jácome praised the potential alliance.

Mr. Tetteh was then presented with prestigious club awards, affirming the high esteem held for his prospective arrival.

He also invited ex-Deportivo La Coruna President Augusto César Lendoiro to provide astute counsel on elevating Ourense.

Nicknamed ‘Africa’s youngest billionaire’, the 42-year-old has rapidly built the multifaceted Pribet Group conglomerate.

His company operates as local partner for Turkish firm Karpower, delivering electricity nationwide in Guinea-Bissau.

Mr. Tetteh was appointed Ghana’s Consul to Guinea-Bissau in 2021 by President Nana Akufo-Addo, showcasing his passion for diplomacy.

His ambition is to utilise Ourense as a platform to increase opportunities for African talents in Europe.

Mr. Tetteh’s acumen and investment could aid the historic Galician club’s promotion push and sustainability.

Currently second in their regional Segunda División B group, Ourense were refounded in 2014 after previous entity CD Ourense dissolved.

If Mr. Tetteh finalises his transformative deal, the club’s future appears bright under a visionary owner eager to make an impact on and off the pitch.

For gifted African youngsters, it may open a vital doorway into European leagues through Ourense’s rejuvenated academy.
