Hammer
Music producer, Hammer, did the honourable thing by apologising to Wendy Shay after offending her with comments that her manager Ricky Nana Agyeman, aka Bullet, be credited for writing her songs.
Hammer in a recent interview praised Bullet as the songwriter for Wendy’s songs, thereby demanding that all credits be given to him.
The comment has come on the heels of many people applauding Wendy Shay for her wordplay in her latest song, ‘Heat’.
However, Wendy Shay didn’t find the statement pleasing.
She replied in social media post saying, “Almost every female artiste in Ghana has a songwriter but nobody really cares who writes for them but anytime Wendy Shay drops a hit song they want to credit everything to the so-called songwriter. Ghana wake up!”
After noticing he didn’t speak well, Hammer made a u-turn on his early submission and apologised to Wendy Shay. “Miss Wendy Shay I’m so sorry for disrespecting your efforts by suggesting your song was probably written by Bullet. I was totally out of line and it wasn’t my place to say something like that without proof on such a large platform like @nkonkonsa. I totally apologise to you and your outfit for the loose talk. Big up and keep on soaring lil sis,” he wrote.
