Solomon Allotey in a handshake with Gifty Appiah after receiving his prize
Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Latex Foam Rubber Products Limited, Gifty Appiah, has hailed the potential of golf in the country.
Last Saturday, Latex Foam rallied support for golf in the Bok Nam Kim Monthly Medal at the Club, near Burma Camp in Accra.
And to the Latex Foam PRO, her outfit’s support for golf has been an eye opener considering the huge health benefits it offers golfers, especially the older generation.
“If you follow the brand, you will realise that for the past decade, we have been committed to sports promotion and development. Having supported disciplines like football and hockey, we decided to do something different as part of activities marking our 5Oth anniversary, hence the decision to support golf and l must say we haven’t regretted it,” she said.
The PRO added, “Golf is a big deal considering the fact that it is an avenue for exercise, particularly for our senior citizens.”
In the end, an impressive stroke from Solomon Allotey and Abena N. Mensah handed the ultimate trophies of the Bok Nam Kim Monthly Medal competition duo in their respective categories.
Allotey, the men’s category A winner, went 42 out and returned 52 to record an 80 net score; beating John Asafu Adjaye by just a stroke, while Peter Ntiamoah Mensah finished third with a 70 score.
And for his brilliant display, he received a trophy and a beautiful Latex Foam sofa.
Abena, on the other hand, recorded a 62 net, also beating Beatrice Aku Dovlo by one stroke to reign in the ladies A category. Leticia Amponsah Mensah trailed two strokes behind to place third.
It was Emmanuel Asante who recorded a net score of 62 to emerge tops in the men’s category B, while Ernest Asimedu and Nana Yaw Bamfo followed with 63 scores apiece in that order.
Nana Fredua left the course with the booby prize.
Club captain Col. John A.Okain (Rtd.) described the event as the most impeccable one.
All golfers who distinguished themselves took home trophies and Latex Foam products.
