Mponoa Outdoors Queen Mother

Nana Agyeiwaah Amoanimaa II

TRADITIONAL authorities of Mponoa, a community in the Skeyere East District of the Ashanti Region, have organized a colourful ceremony to outdoor their new queen mother to ensure rapid socio-economic development of the area.

The queen mother, Nana Agyeiwaah Amoanimaa II, was outdoored on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Effiduase with a collective determination to resolve disputes and ensure proper land management practices to promote development and peaceful coexistence of all residents.

Mponoa Bretuo Abusuapanin, Rev. I. Y. Boamah, Caretaker of Mponoahene, Nana Akwasi Donkor, the queen mother and all the elders of the Mponoa stool of New Adukro informed residents of all the 17 communities of the area to send their traditional-related problems to them for redress.   

Speaking at the outdooring ceremony, Nana Akwasi Donkor urged the 17 communities occupying Mponoa Bretuo stool lands to accord the queen mother the needed respect and cooperation to discharge her duties effectively.

He expressed satisfaction about how the people who were scattered in the olden days through wars have now come together. He entreated them to live in peace as a people. 

In her brief remarks, Nana Agyeiwaa Amoaniwaa II, known in private life as Esther Gyimah, called on her people to rally behind her to bring development to them.

She advised the youth to eschew all evil practices, which undermined community progress, and to commit themselves to studying hard to acquire requisite knowledge and skills.

She promised to follow the great examples of her predecessors and asked Nananom to guide, protect and draw her attention to any blunder she might commit. She expressed her willingness to tolerate constructive criticisms to ensure peaceful co-existence.
