Mr. Beautiful
Veteran actor Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr. Beautiful, has been officially appointed as a member of the Creative Arts Agency’s new governing board.
The announcement was made on Monday, August 5, 2025, during the formal introduction of the 13-member board in Accra.
Other members of the board include well-known opera singer and former journalist Kokui Selormey, and award-winning actress Akorfa Edjeani Asiedu.
Photos from the ceremony showed Mr. Beautiful and his fellow board members with the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie. He was also seen signing his contract and taking his oath of office.
Mr. Beautiful’s appointment comes at a time when the board is expected to help shape policies and provide support for Ghana’s creative industry.
Known for his strong support for former President John Mahama and the NDC, his inclusion has sparked public discussion about the role of politics in the arts sector.
The Creative Arts Agency, created under the Creative Arts Industry Act, 2020 (Act 1048), is responsible for promoting artistic development, preserving culture, and supporting local and international partnerships in Ghana’s creative space.
