CLOGSAG, the Civil and Local Government Staff Association in the Northern Region, is calling for members to wear red bands and fly red flags in protest of the alleged delayed implementation of the new salary structure and other conditions of service.
The Regional Executive Council held an emergency meeting on 14th December 2023 to discuss the issue of the new salary structure that was agreed upon in a memorandum of understanding on 19th January 2022.
According to the agreement, the salary structure should have been finalized by 31st August 2022 and implemented on 1st January 2023.
The delay has led CLOGSAG to call upon its members to take action.
The Regional Secretary of CLOGSAG, Naba Alhaji Apam Nuhu stated that enough is enough and that members need to fight for what they deserve and are entitled to.
The organization has urged its headquarters to declare a strike as soon as possible.
