NLA Announces 25% Commission For Licenced Agents

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) Board has announced a 5% increase in commission to its licenced marketing companies and agents starting from the end of August 2024.

Thus, licenced lottery marketing companies and agents of the Authority will now be paid a commission rate of 25% from the previous rate of 20% in a bid to increase their earnings.

NLA Board Chairman, Gary Nimako Marfo Esq., who made the announcement during the annual Editor’s Forum in Accra said the Board’s decision will benefit only licenced agents across the country by improving their earnings.

“This increase is for the first time in so many years and this is also to appreciate our cherished marketing companies,” he said.

Mr. Marfo expressed his commitment to leaving a lasting legacy during his tenure, focusing on enhancing the operations and reputation of the NLA despite challenges with illegal lottery operators.

“The NLA is making great strides in its operations, and we will continue on this path of progress… forward ever, backwards never,” Mr. Marfo stated.

NLA Chief Executive Officer, Sammi Awuku, also took the opportunity to commend the NLA staff for their dedication and hard work, which has been instrumental in the Authority’s recent achievements.

He called on the media to help the authority sanitise the lottery sector so it can protect the public from scammers and illegal lottery operators.

He said, so far, the authority has been engaging the judiciary, and security agencies to combat illegal lottery operators.

The annual forum provides a platform for the NLA to share its activities and progress with media professionals.

The media professionals were taken through presentations by the finance, legal, marketing, caritas and events departments of the NLA.

The NLA Good Causes Foundation also share their activities with the media while a licenced lottery marketing company, Blue Star Limited also shared its progress since collaborating with the NLA.
