The New Patriotic Party (NPP), will, on Saturday, 28th September, 2019, hold parliamentary primaries across the country in all the 106 constituencies that it has no sitting MPs (orphan constituencies).
However, in some six constituencies where the primaries have been put on hold until further notice, there will be no voting on Saturday.
The six constituencies are Chereponi constituency (North-East Region), Krachi West Constituency (Oti Region), Afajato South Constituency (Volta Region), Kpando Constituency, (Volta Region)
Anlo Constituency (Volta Region), Hohoe Constituency (Volta Region)
“For the avoidance of doubt, the elections shall be supervised by the Electoral Commission of Ghana through their respective District Offices and supported by the various Constituency Parliamentary Elections Committees,” General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu, said in a news release.
Also, the album that was used to elect the current constituency executives at the 2018 Constituency Annual Delegates Conference shall be the same Album that will be used for the Extraordinary Constituency Delegates Conference (Primaries) on Saturday, according to the release.
“The party wishes all aspiring parliamentary candidates the best of luck as it assures all stakeholders that the necessary arrangements have been put in place for a successful conference.”
