A 47 YEAR-OLD man at Atwima Tachiman, in the Ashanti Region, nearly lost his life over GHC200.
Nana Antwi Boasiako was shot in the rib area by two robbers that invaded his home on March 31, 2021.
The victim and his wife were asleep when two robbers, stormed the house at 1:30am ostensibly to rob them.
A police report, confirming the robbery case, said the hoodlums wielded a pistol and sharp-looking machete.
The robbers, who were wearing face masks to hide their identities, held the man and his wife, Rose Manu, captive.
Without provocation, the trigger-happy hoodlums shot the man in the rib area right in the presence of his wife.
The robbers also inflicted cutlass wounds on Antwi Boasiako before snatching his GHC200.
The police report said the man mustered courage and engaged the robbers in a hot fisticuffs.
In the process of the brawl, Antwi Boasiako managed to seize the pistol and the machete from the two robbers.
The man, who was like a wounded lion, then retaliated by also inflicting cutlass wounds on one of the hoodlums.
Sensing danger, the two robbers then abandoned their ‘operational tools’ and absconded to avert being nabbed.
The 47-year-old man was then rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he is on admission now. His wife, reported the case to the police, who rushed to the robbery scene for inspection.
The police found one pistol magazine with 8 rounds of ammunition, car Jack, cutlass, industrial cutter and Black mask.
