Abrantie Amakye Dede
Thousands of Ghanaian music fans from all walks of life were thrilled with great musical performances at an event dubbed ‘African Legends Night’, which was held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) last Friday.
The ‘African Legends Night’, organised by Global Media Alliance (GMA), is a high-profile concert which recognises and celebrates African musicians who are considered living legends.
The Patch Bay Band, which served as curtain raisers, sparked the atmosphere in the auditorium with live renditions of back-to-back hits of Ghana’s highlife songs.
The much hyped event witnessed performances from celebrated musicians such as Efya, Rex Omar, Samini and Abrantie Amakye Dede.
The show kicked off with brilliant performance from Efya, who captivated the audience with her popular songs such as ‘Best In Me’, ‘One Of Your Own’, ‘Woman’ among others.
The event reached its peak when three top musicians were called one after the other to entertain fans.
Rex Omar mounted the stage performing most of his popular songs, getting the already excited audience to sing along.
Delivering hit after hit, Rex thrilled and entertained his fans and patrons with his various hit songs which include ‘Abiba’, ‘Daada Di Da’, ‘Kotosa’, ‘Aware Pa’ and a host of others.
Samini took over from Rex Omar and also delivered on his earlier promise to provide the best of entertainment for his fans on the night.
He dished out his popular danceable songs such as ‘Di Wu Lane Mu’, ‘Gyae Shi’, ‘Obra’, ‘My Own’, ‘Obaa’, ‘Forever’ among others.
The climax of the concert was when Abrantie Amakye Dede took the stage. He performed songs like ‘Handkerchief’, ‘Brebrebe Yi’, ‘Sokoo Na Mmaa Pe’, ‘Kose Kose’, ‘Dabi Dabi’, ‘Mefre Wo’, ‘Akwadaa Wisua’ and a host of others.
