THE YOUTH Employment Agency (YEA) has presented free start-up tools to some selected barbers and fashion designers that have completed their apprenticeship in Kumasi.
The items presented to the beneficiaries, numbering about 400, included brand new sewing machines, mobile phones and professional clippers for barbers to support their various businesses.
Delivering his message during the presentation ceremony on Wednesday morning, the Ashanti Regional YEA Director, Seth Twumasi, said YEA sought to improve the lives of the youth in the country by helping them to get gainful employment.
He stated that the Association of Fashion and Salon Apprenticeship in Kumasi made a passionate appeal to YEA to support them with equipment to start their businesses, and YEA had obliged.
“We received their appeal and forwarded it to the YEA Chief Executive Officer, Lawyer Justin Kodua, and his executives, who supplied the equipment to these beneficiaries,” he remarked.
Seth Twumasi admonished the beneficiaries to take good care of the items in order to ensure their longevity, adding that the beneficiaries should also train and impart their skills to other youth.
Kwabena Nsenkyire, the Ashanti Regional NADMO Director, advised the beneficiaries to be truthful in all their dealings so that their businesses would be effectively transformed rapidly.
Margaret Owusu, the Deputy Ashanti Regional NADMO Director, on behalf of the beneficiaries, lauded President Akufo-Addo for his tireless efforts to develop the youth in the country.
Significantly, YEA made the presentation through its Artisan Directorate.
