THE POPULARITY of Vice President Dr. Bawumia and Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei Opare keeps increasing in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The entire 16 identifiable groups in the Kumasi Central Market have declared their unflinching support for the Vice President and the Chief of Staff over their performance.

According to the 16 powerful groups, President Nana Akufo-Addo’s government was successful in political office during the first-term because of these two personalities.

In this regard, the identifiable groups have urged the NPP to allow Dr. Bawumia to lead the NPP as flag bearer in 2024 and also retain Ms. Opare as the Chief of Staff.

John Yaw Sarpong, speaking on behalf of the identifiable groups, stated that Dr. Bawumia had overly performed so he was the right person to lead the NPP for the next polls.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia has remained humble and respectful to President Akufo-Addo from day one, adding that the hardworking nature of the Veep is also visible.

“Dr. Bawumia has provided the best support to President Akufo-Addo so it is not a surprise that the NPP government has been overly successful in political office.

“Dr. Bawumia has gone through the mill through President Akufo-Addo’s proper training, therefore he should be made to lead the NPP to retain power in 2024,” he demanded.

Mr. Sarpong, who was addressing journalists at Kejetia, also said Ms. Opare had proven to be the best Chief of Staff in the history of the country in just four years.

“This woman is caring, respectful and she is a mother for all as she accommodates everybody,” he said, adding that “she should be retained as Chief of Staff to help the NPP government,” he said.
