THE Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh has asked former President John Mahama to stop making comments of violence in the 2024 general election.

Mr Mahama in a radio interview in Techiman, the Bono East Regional capital on Akina FM today declared that the 2024 elections will be bloody.

According to him, “Elections have become life and death in this country. The use of the Delta Force and Invincible Forces by the NPP in the 2020 elections is a wake-up call for us to adequately prepare for 2024. We must not fail the party in 2024. We must do all we can to win. 2024 will be a do-or-die affair”.

Mr Mahama, who is on a self-promotional tour across the country emphasized that for the NDC to be counted in 2024, the Party must prepare to go all out to ensure that victory becomes the lot of the party.

The former President’s latest threats go a long way to solidify the belief of many Ghanaians that he is ready to do anything that would win power for the NDC in the 2024 elections.

However, the Member of Parliament for Nsawam/Adoagyiri reacting to these desperate remarks from the former President said “It beats understanding how Mr Mahama’s “Thank You Tour” has become a platform for reckless commentary”.

The Majority Chief Whip, expressed worried that “How does a former President & former ECOWAS chair threaten electoral violence while belittling the ability of laws and the Supreme Courts to deliver justice?

Mr Annoh-Dompreh further called on former President John Mahama to reacts to his irresponsible statements and offer an unqualified apology to the people of Ghana: the people he hopes to lead.
