The Black Queens squad
HEAD COACH of the Ghana Women’s National Team, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, has announced a 24-player squad for camping ahead of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The squad, revealed by the Ghana Football Association on Monday, June 16, includes only four home-based players: Kerrie McCarthy, Afi Amenyeku, Comfort Yeboah, and Nancy Amoh.
Notably, Josephine Bonsu, Louisa Aniwaa, Chantelle Hlorkah, and Abigail Kofi Kim — who were handed their debuts under the Swedish coach — have retained their places in the team.
The Black Queens will hold a training camp outside Ghana as part of their final preparations for the continental competition, which kicks off on July 5 and ends on July 26.
Ghana has been drawn into a challenging group alongside defending champions South Africa, Mali, and Tanzania as they seek to make a strong impression at the tournament.
