One of the mangled cars during Tuesday’s accident at Denyame
A CERTAIN road at Denyame, a residential area in Kumasi, in the Ashanti regional capital, has virtually become accident prone.
According to reports, vehicular accident is recorded daily on an intersection (four junctions) which is very close to the Ghana Revenue Guesthouse.
Accidents have been recorded on that particular road since the beginning of the year, to the chagrin of road users and residents of the quiet neighbourhood.
Some of the accidents were so dangerous that it caused life-threatening injuries to the victims and serious damages to vehicles, the paper has been told.
Surprisingly, when the DAILY GUIDE visited the accident-prone road on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, another accident had just happened on that particular intersection.
The paper spotted a Toyota Vitz car which had crashed with another salon car right in the intersection, causing body injuries to people on board the two vehicles.
Austin Oduro Boadi, a resident of Denyame, who witnessed the latest crash, said the two cars collided right in the middle of the intersection in a dangerous manner.
“The two vehicles were moving at top speed when they collided right in the middle of the intersection. The impact was strong so both vehicles got damaged,” he added.
Oduro Boadi said people on board the accident cars sustained body injuries and were rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
He said accidents occur in that particular intersection on a daily basis, causing injuries to people.
“I’m suggesting that they should either place traffic lights in the intersection or construct road ramps on the four roads leading to the intersection, to stop the crashes.
“An accident is recorded on this particular road virtually every day, and it’s time that the city authorities intervened to stop possible deaths on the road,” he pleaded.
