SHEROES GLOBAL, a women development and support organisation which builds women and youth to become positive change agents, on Monday, September 23, 2024, surprised mothers at the maternity and pediatric units of the Achimota Hospital in Accra.

Some of the donated items included sanitary pads, mineral water, child goodies containing baby play toys, bleach cleaners, baby wipes, tooth brushes and tooth paste, deodorants, hand cream among others.

Founder of SHEROES Global, Kim Poole, said the organisers urgency to support mothers at the hospital was born out of their commitment and pledge to inspire women to support one another, stressing, “we want to see a society where women can reach highest potential, free of violence to celebrate their achievement.”

“We support the mothers that support the mothers, women are the creators of life and we have to support and protect their worms, and we are doing that here at the maternity ward today. And this donation is only the beginning,” she stated.

Kim Poole also announced that the organisation has plans to visit hospitals in the Northern Region to reach out to newborn mothers with goodies to support their children upbringing.

“We want the women to know that they are sacred and needs to be protected and nurtured, and that is what is going to build a healthy Ghana and support global African people,” she added.

Global African Sheroes Ghana Host, Gifty Serwaa Bonsu, also emphasised on the organisers commitment to promoting the well-being of women and children in the country.

“We are committed to ensuring that women are elevated to status in society they deserve, and this is just the beginning of many more things to come,” she added.

Development Queenmother of Afigya-Kwabre District in the Ashanti Region, Nana AdwoaAwindor, who occupy the position as Elder of the Sheroes, urged the mothers to take care of their newborn babies and the items handed to them.
“To the management of this hospital, please take care of the donated items and utilise it for its intended purposes, and trust us to do more in the coming days,” she added.
